Job summary

State of Oklahoma, Department of Transportation, is seeking an Engineering Manager V for the Ada area, reporting to the Director of Systems and Operations. The role oversees a team of engineers and technicians, guiding engineering activities and ensuring compliance with agency priorities.

The position offers comprehensive benefits, retirement plans, and substantial annual leave, with a competitive compensation of $160,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience requirements: registration as a Professional Engineer and six years of supervisory experience in a professional engineering field.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ability to plan, organize, budget, supervise and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Selects, develops and motivates subordinate staff to ensure resources are available for quality services and on-time performance.
• Plans, organizes and manages the work of subordinate staff to ensure completion in accordance with agency requirements.
• Directs engineering activities of all or part of an agency’s responsibility (section, branch, division).
• Develops and conducts a specific work program within an agency aligning with policies and budget constraints.
• Manages budgets for an assigned unit and ensures expenses align with budget.
• Represents the department in contacts with the public and officials, addressing questions and complaints.
• Oversees consulting engineer contracts and provides technical oversight.
