Cloud-init supports various distributions and platforms, offering opportunities to work with:

  3. Distributions to update builds and coordinate needs.

You will own the product, influence its evolution, and collaborate with teams and partners on new features and integrations.

What you'll do
  1. Build and lead a globally distributed engineering team.
  2. Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  3. Collaborate with Product Management on vision and strategy.
  4. Manage expectations with teams, management, and stakeholders.
  5. Promote modern, agile development practices.
  6. Foster a collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values.
  7. Participate in leadership and collaborate across the organization.
  8. Engage in code and architectural reviews.
  9. Work with Canonical teams, the open source community, and partners.
  10. Oversee quality of Ubuntu Server images.
  11. Plan and deliver Ubuntu Server features.
  12. Work remotely with up to 6 weeks of global travel annually.
Who you are
  1. You love developing people and have a proven track record.
  2. You are passionate about software development.
  3. You have 3+ years of leadership, management, coaching, and mentoring experience, preferably with distributed teams.
  4. You focus on success and delivering high-quality software on time.
  5. You have experience in agile environments.
  6. You hold a Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  7. You possess strong English communication skills.
  8. You are experienced with GNU/Linux distributions, especially Debian or Ubuntu.
  9. You have practical experience with cloud providers like Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
