Job Overview

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a client‑focused, technically excellent transportation engineering team serving local, statewide, and nationwide clients. The position is located in St. Louis, MO or Belleville, IL.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead projects and teams related to transportation planning and design, traffic studies, and/or construction engineering
• Develop and mentor staff
• Collaborate with other disciplines
• Maintain client relations
• Participate in new business development
• Establish and maintain budgets and schedules
• Partner with leadership and other team members throughout the Transportation Group and the Company

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
• 15+ years of transportation and/or structural experience with diverse project experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working on and with MODOT, County and Local Agency projects and established relationships with these clients
• Proven leadership skills with engineering staff
• Strong team player in a multi‑disciplinary environment
• Ability to effectively manage clients and projects
• Ability to effectively participate and lead marketing activities
• Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
• Working experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of MicroStation and Geopak
