Job summary

bet365 is recruiting an Engineering Manager to drive innovation and mentor top talent for our Sports Platform. You will lead a team of T-shaped, full-stack engineers, delivering low-latency services in Golang and C#, as we migrate from on-prem to GCP.

You will shape platform direction, measure quality, and push for efficient, scalable solutions. The role focuses on building new services, supporting microservices, and empowering a high-performance engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with leading development teams in the delivery of high quality software applications.
• Passionate about working with technology and software development processes and practices.
• Experience with C#, Golang, Typescript or other server side technologies.
• Adaptability, with the ability to lead a team to ensure the best outcome for the Business.
• Experience with mobile technologies.
• Experience with performance testing.
• Knowledge of service orientated architecture.
• Exposure to multiple software development methodologies.
• Experience with or exposure to Cloud technologies such as GCP, GKE or SAAS.
• Exposure to generative artificial intelligence and large language models.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in driving the provision of a capable, reactive, and motivated and delivery focused team.
• Enforcing governance of quality, rules, standards and processes to ensure solutions meet Business requirements.
• Ensuring the development process is conducted in a timely fashion.
• Planning and tracking works actively, as prioritized by the product, project and development management.
• Gaining a good understanding of the technical structure, domain and architecture of the systems that the team are responsible for.
• Identifying and mitigating risk.
• Removing blockers to delivery.
• Working through dependencies.
• Mentoring members of the team and ensuring distribution of knowledge.
• Inputting developer appraisals and other performance feedback.
