Job summary

Docker seeks an Engineering Manager to lead two core teams responsible for secure build and software supply-chain services. You will drive delivery, team health, growth and reliability while aligning with product strategy and security priorities.

You will stay hands-on enough to discuss distributed systems, CI pipelines and production operations, yet remain focused on leadership, mentorship and cross‑functional collaboration across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams across more than one domain
• 8+ years professional software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or developer tooling
• Experience growing and retaining engineers including difficult performance conversations
• Leadership with a product-minded and remote-first operating model
• Ability to prioritize across roadmaps, operational load and stakeholder commitments
• Strong backend and distributed-systems judgement and production operations
• Familiarity with CI/build systems, containers and artefact workflows and security

Responsibilities

• Lead Secure Build and SCS Services, owning delivery, team health, growth and reliability
• Turn two roadmaps into a coherent portfolio plan with priorities and capacity
• Partner with Product to shape strategy for secure build, Scout and Hardened Images
• Stay close to technical work through design reviews and incidents
• Define interfaces and ownership between teams, including contracts and data quality
• Balance new product work with inherited systems and on-call duties
• Grow engineers, handle difficult conversations and build leadership depth
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners while shielding teams from churn
