Job summary

Upside is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Reconciliation team, a full-stack group responsible for transaction matching across Kotlin Multiplatform front-end and Python/Java back-end.

You will drive operational excellence, coach engineers, and partner with Product, Design, Data, Consumer Ops, and Partners to align the roadmap with measurable improvements in cash-back accuracy and user trust. This hybrid role is based in Austin or other listed offices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, mobile or distributed API domains a strong plus.
• Track record of scaling teams and leveling up systems with unclear paths.
• Deep technical experience across mobile and API infrastructure and back-end data tools (AWS a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead a reconciliation team, full-stack scope from Kotlin front-end to Python/Java back-end.
• Coach engineers, grow the team, and drive operational excellence.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Ops to align roadmap with business gains.
• Champion quality, observability, and scalable systems.
