Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is seeking an hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers building core products and infrastructure for government clients. You will split time between technical planning and people management, working with product, security, and customer teams to meet complex federal compliance and performance needs.

Must be able to commute to office three times per week. You will recruit and mentor engineers, drive productivity, and define a strategic roadmap for Scale AI's

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time engineering experience after graduation.
• 2+ years of engineering management or similar leadership experience.
• Extensive software development experience.
• Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups.
• Interest in AI technologies and public-sector applications.
• Strong track record mentoring teams and delivering projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Drive engineering productivity with guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership.
• Collaborate with product, security, and customer-facing teams to align roadmaps.
• Deliver scalable backend systems for federal customers using Scale AI infrastructure.
• Develop data-intensive applications and ML infrastructure with real-world impact.
• Engage in customer engagements to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Shape platform roadmap and contribute to Scale AI's Federal offerings.
