Job summary

Avecia Pharma in Cincinnati is seeking an Engineering Manager to plan and oversee the Engineering Department’s activities, focusing on Project and Process Engineering, equipment readiness, and implementation of new technology.

You will lead a team, assign resources, provide guidance, and collaborate across departments to resolve production issues while driving process optimization and continuous improvement in a cGMP manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• >2 years technical management in a cGMP pharma/biotech environment
• 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience with 2+ years in chemical/API environment
• Strong project and team leadership skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Expertise in bulk API manufacturing, especially oligonucleotides
• Experience with process optimization and Lean Six Sigma

Responsibilities

• Oversee allocation of Process engineering resources.
• Assist department head with project priorities.
• Provide technical guidance to Process/Project Engineers.
• Report project status and resource availability to leadership.
• Provide engineering support to various departments.
• Serve as Technical Service representative for projects.
• Develop and implement project methods and procedures.
• Gain expert knowledge on unit operations and supporting equipment.
• Train technical personnel in use, care and safety of assets.
• Collaborate with departments to resolve production problems.
• Provide technical direction on validation, capital, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Manage activities and resources for new equipment and processes.
