Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Madison, WI to lead a team building pricing and offers capabilities powering PlayStation commerce. You’ll drive technical excellence and coach engineers across services, APIs, tooling, and customer-facing experiences.

You will balance people leadership with hands-on technical depth, guiding architecture, design decisions, and delivery timelines while coordinating with Product, Design, and Program Management across

Qualifications

• BS or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience, including experience managing or leading software engineers
• Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and empower engineers
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide architecture, design, and engineering discussions
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and balance priorities across multiple initiatives
• Experience delivering complex software across multiple teams or systems; experience in commerce or pricing is not required.
• Experience with Agile development practices and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, creating clear expectations, meaningful growth opportunities, and strong ownership across the team.
• Drive engineering delivery against strategic business outcomes, breaking complex initiatives into incremental milestones that deliver value to production.
• Maintain a high bar for engineering quality, operational excellence, and team performance.
• Guide technical decision-making by participating in architecture, design, and engineering trade-offs while empowering engineers to own solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Program Management, and Engineering teams across multiple time zones to align priorities, roadmaps, and dependencies.
• Anticipate and remove technical and organizational roadblocks, risks, and dependencies that could prevent the team from delivering effectively.
• Assess and communicate team capacity and resourcing needs, while continuously improving how the team operates and delivers.
