Job summary

ClearBridge Executive Search is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and grow a mechanical engineering team responsible for capital equipment and material-handling systems. You will provide technical direction, review designs, and ensure safety, manufacturability, and cost objectives.

In this role you will troubleshoot complex equipment issues, collaborate with Project Management, Manufacturing, Operations, and Sales, and drive continuous improvement across design processes to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience designing industrial machinery, capital equipment, or material-handling systems.
• Experience designing OEM equipment systems is a must.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar)
• Proven experience leading mechanical engineering teams, manufacturing operations, and equipment-development initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical engineering projects, OEM equipment design, and process-improvement initiatives
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex equipment issues and collaborate effectively with manufacturing and maintenance teams

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop mechanical engineering teams with design direction and workload planning.
• Oversee design and development of capital equipment and material-handling systems (conveyors, stackers, etc.).
• Review and approve designs, calculations, layouts, and specs for performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment issues.
• Collaborate across PM, Manufacturing, Operations, Sales, and customers to meet schedules and requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement with standards and documentation to enhance quality and scalability.
