OpenAI, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the API Multicloud team responsible for building and operating OpenAI's API across major cloud providers.

You will guide a group of engineers in creating scalable, reliable cloud deployment platforms that deliver frontier models to customers. You will own the technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and partner with inference, API, infrastructure, security, and CSP teams to expand capabilities and ensure production

Competenze

• Proven experience leading, building, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and platform engineering.

• Define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for API Multicloud, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Drive the architecture and execution of complex distributed systems supporting API routing, model serving, and cloud infra across CSPs.
• Partner with inference, API, infrastructure, security, and CSP teams to launch new models and expand platform capabilities.
• Own reliability, performance, and operational excellence of the platform, driving capacity planning and deployment processes.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Set clear priorities, navigate ambiguity, and balance near-term needs with long-term technical investments.
