Job summary

SCN - Search Consulting Network seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead production support and drive improvements in an on-site plant in Minnesota. You will oversee troubleshooting, process control, defect reduction, and uptime enhancements across advanced laser systems and automation equipment.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background with 8+ years of manufacturing experience, ISO 9001 exposure, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) required.
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience with increasing responsibility.
• Experience in ISO 9001 controlled manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with cross-functional influence.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support engineering activities focused on sustaining manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, process control, defect reduction, and uptime improvements.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, standard work, visual management, waste elimination, and changeover improvements.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Materials, and Leadership teams to improve operational performance.
• Support manufacturing processes for laser systems, automation equipment, and custom production solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

We are helping our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial laser systems, automation equipment, and custom production solutions serving medical device, industrial, and electronics customers, find a direct hire Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Position Highlights:

• Full time, on-site
• Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead production support engineering activities focused on sustaining manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, process control, defect reduction, and uptime improvements
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, standard work, visual management, waste elimination, and changeover improvements
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Materials, and Leadership teams to improve operational performance
• Support manufacturing processes for advanced industrial laser systems, automation equipment, and custom engineered production solutions
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in a fast paced, customer-driven manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) or equivalent manufacturing experience
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience with increasing responsibility
• Proven success leading production support engineering, troubleshooting, process improvements, and defect reduction initiatives
• Strong hands on Lean Manufacturing experience, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 controlled manufacturing environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Nice to Have:

• 3+ years leading engineers or technical teams in a production environment
• Lean certification or formal Lean training
• Experience in industrial equipment, automation, laser systems, converting, packaging, or related manufacturing environments
