• Provide vision for the mechanical engineering team and foster creativity, responsible risk taking, and crisp execution.
• Guide the team in developing compelling product architectures.
• Define product pillars and business goals with senior management and internal customers.
• Decipher complex situations and set priorities to focus the team.
• Develop knowledge of customer needs to ensure product designs deliver value.
• Communicate design details effectively with surgeons and customers.
• Create high-level technical presentations for leadership on goals, status, risks.
• Set group objectives and individual goals aligned with product development.
• Assign tasks, set priorities, and track progress.
• Coach and develop mechanical engineers; manage performance.
• Grow and retain a talented engineering team.
• Maintain SOPs and design guidelines; ensure FDA design history file compliance.
• Coordinate activities with other groups and cross-functional teams.
