Job summary

Pregis is seeking an Engineering Manager – Materials & Converting based in Aurora, IL. You will lead NPD projects and innovation initiatives, driving sustainable consumable product offerings through material development and next generation converting technologies.

The role requires deep understanding of converting technology and fitness-for-use across markets, reporting to the Vice-President, Technology. Travel ~30% to Pregis facilities and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 12–15 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical/manufacturing/plant engineering roles.
• Experience leading root cause analysis on manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI programming.
• Knowledge of 3-phase power, transformers, switchgear, and machine wiring.
• Capable of capital project management and end-to-end project planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from development through commercialization using the NPC process.
• Create roadmaps to test concepts; modify manufacturing or pilot equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with external partners to accelerate development and ideation.
• Mentor team members; manage vendor selection and oversight.
• Execute multiple project paths to validate concepts and build/modify pilot equipment.
