Job description

Overall Description

Responsible for managing all E&I technicians’ operations at the site; including preventative, predictive, scheduled, and nonscheduled work. This also includes maintenance of equipment, buildings, utilities, and facilities. Will utilize the plant CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for planning and tracking all maintenance on the site. Assist in the development of site capital plans and reviews safety and health aspects of site maintenance and construction activities. Performs all duties within the Company’s safety, health, & environmental regulations. All other duties as assigned by management.

Key Duties

• Ensure that all instrumentation and electronics are being maintained to ensure that the plant is running at its peak operating efficiency.
• Develop and implement site maintenance programs including predictive, preventative, and emergency work procedures and protocols.
• Oversee emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and preventative maintenance of plant equipment to maintain the condition of the plant and improve operating efficiency in a safe manner.
• Ensure department activities are compliant with all Company, government, and site operational department’s regulations.
• Assist in developing site capital plan.
• Develop and manage key maintenance metrics for review and improvements. These include percent preventive vs. corrective work as well as work order backlog management.
• Help to manage the maintenance storeroom and provide options to improve its operation.

Supervision

• Manage a group of E&I technicians.
• Establish and implement training programs to increase the effectiveness of the E&I personnel and promote development of our staff.
• Maintain cost controls for budget, storeroom, contractors, non-stock materials.

Site Wide Support

Provide Back-up For Other Department Personnel As Required.

Develop key initiatives to reduce / eliminate injuries to maintenance workers. Complete audits of workers to assure that all are following JSA’s and safe work practices to anticipate hazardous conditions and to simply prevent injuries.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of electrical and instrumentation installation or management of electrical and instrumentation technicians.
• Strong organizational, and management skills.
• Solid interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of SAP computerized maintenance management system is required.

Education / Specialized Training Required

• BS in electrical engineering or 10 years' experience in maintenance management in chemical process industry preferred.
• Must have written and oral proficiency in the English language.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, sit and / or stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day. May be required to move throughout production areas on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and be exposed to outside temperatures/weather. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
