Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the design, mechanical, controls, and software engineering efforts for automotive projects. You will oversee staff and external vendors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of high-quality machines and systems.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and at least ten years in design applications and engineering management. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent applied engineering experience.
• Ten years minimum experience in design application and engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control budget, scheduling of mechanical, controls and software designs for customer orders and internal use honing machines.
• Coordinate workload using internal and external resources to complete scheduled engineering activities.
• Select, train, develop and motivate staff to meet performance expectations.
• Coordinate and review project design decisions with staff engineers and management.
• Analyze and develop new concepts, standards, and technology for quality and cost effectiveness.
• Maintain contact with sister companies for consistency of concepts and standards.
• Monitor and coordinate engineering actions during the build phase with manufacturing.
• Maintain customer contact through meetings and presentations.
• Support proposals with estimates for engineering hours and hardware.
• Gather and maintain engineering tools such as software licenses and lab equipment.
