Job summary

Closets by Design – Utah is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team from sales design through manufacturing, ensuring drawings, cutlists, and manufacturing orders are accurate and meet quality standards.

You will partner with Sales, CAD/Engineering, Manufacturing, and Installation to resolve design and production issues, maintain schedules, and continuously improve workflows, accuracy, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in CAD, drafting, engineering, cabinetry, or related field.
• Strong leadership or management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Cabinet Vision or similar CAD/design software.
• Understanding of cabinetry and manufacturing processes, materials, and machining.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee Engineering and CAD/Plan Checking functions.
• Review and approve sales designs for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Oversee CAD drawings, cutlists, machining requirements, and manufacturing orders.
• Identify design, material, manufacturing, or installation issues before production.
• Provide direction, training, and support to Engineering/CAD team members.
• Establish and maintain engineering processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor workload and ensure on-time project completion.
• Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, and Installation to resolve issues.
