Job summary

Chainguard is the trusted source for open source security and developer tooling. We’re seeking an Engineering Manager, Internal Developer Platform to lead a mature team of senior engineers and drive a world-class developer experience.

You will shape the golden paths, automate infrastructure, and own CI/CD workflows while aligning cross-functional priorities with security and product goals. You will report to the Senior Director of Platform & Integrations and lead a team of principal engineers.

Qualifications

5-10+ years of engineering management experience for Senior Manager level; 2-3+ years for Manager level.
Experience leading senior engineers, including principal-level talent.
Technical enough to read and occasionally contribute to code; not purely hands-off.
Background in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Make engineers more productive by improving systems, workflows and tooling.
Create self-service platform capabilities to let teams focus on customer problems.
Own and evolve software delivery systems for fast, reliable, secure, and scalable builds, tests, releases, and deployments.
Drive operational excellence with SLOs, observability, capacity planning, and automation.
Lead a senior/Principal engineering team; remove obstacles and set clear goals.
Advance Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and platform automation.
Define and execute the roadmap for the Internal Developer Platform.
Partner with application, security, and leadership to prioritize platform investments.
