StackAdapt is the leading technology company that empowers marketers to reach, engage, and convert audiences with precision. With 465 billion automated optimizations per second, the AI-powered StackAdapt Marketing Platform seamlessly connects brand and performance marketing to drive measurable results across the entire customer journey.

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead our Stats & Analytics Data Platform team — the group responsible for building and operating the infrastructure that powers data at scale across StackAdapt. Our systems process terabytes of data daily, serving both real-time and batch use cases. The Data Platform ensures that data is fresh, accurate, and cost-efficient so that analytics, machine learning, and product teams can rely on trustworthy, governed datasets.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, and we are open to candidates located anywhere in the United States or Canada.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and grow a team of talented engineers focused on data infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Architect and oversee the design of scalable data pipelines, batch jobs, and streaming processes that power analytics and machine learning.
  • Manage data storage systems (warehouses, lakes, and analytical databases) with a focus on reliability, lineage, and governance.
  • Guide the team in adopting modern tools and practices across ETL, orchestration, and big data processing.
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, data science, and product to align platform capabilities with business needs.
  • Mentor engineers, promote technical excellence, and cultivate a culture of learning and collaboration.
  • Drive projects to completion, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational needs.
  • Participate in hiring by interviewing, evaluating, and onboarding new team members.
What you’ll bring to the table
  • Strong background in data & software engineering and distributed systems, ideally at scale (terabytes+).
  • Proven technical leadership and people management experience, with the ability to set vision and drive execution.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses, lakes, and compute/storage technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Pinot, TiDB, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Trino/Presto).
  • Experience designing, building, and scaling robust ETL pipelines and real-time streaming processes.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
  • Ability to think strategically, communicate clearly, and lead teams through technical and organizational growth.

Impact of the role: As Engineering Manager II, you’ll shape the backbone of StackAdapt’s data ecosystem. The reliability and scalability of the Data Platform will directly influence how quickly and confidently teams across the company can innovate using data.
