Job summary

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) seeks a Development Manager II for the Advanced Prototype team to lead embedded, GNC, perception, and planning engineers turning autonomy ideas into working vehicles. You’ll split time writing and reviewing C++ in embedded systems and leading team plans, budgets, and standards.

You’ll mentor engineers, direct prototype software deployment, review designs, and drive milestone success while partnering with product, QA, and operations to deliver reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software or computer engineering experience.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams in a management role.
• Strong C++ skills for embedded, real-time, or robotics software.
• Hands-on development in embedded systems, GNC, or perception.
• Deep robotics or vehicle automation background; Agile/Scrum experience.
• Ability to guide engineers through complex technical design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Spend up to half time developing C++ in embedded, GNC, or perception.
• Lead, mentor, and grow embedded, GNC, perception, and planning engineers.
• Direct design, testing, and deployment of prototype autonomy software.

As a Development Manager II on the Advanced Prototype team, you will lead a small team of embedded, GNC, perception, and planning engineers who turn new autonomy ideas into working vehicles. Up to half your time goes to building: writing and reviewing C++ in embedded systems, GNC, or perception. The rest goes to leading: owning the team's plans, milestones, and budget, setting technical standards, and growing the engineers who do the work.
