Job description

A rapidly expanding energy tech firm is looking for an Associate Engineering Manager to spearhead the creation of high-voltage and low-voltage cable and harness architectures for large-scale battery storage solutions. This role demands a hands-on leader to oversee the entire product lifecycle, spanning from initial conceptualization and design to validation and full-scale manufacturing. You will act as the primary technical liaison, coordinating between electrical and mechanical teams, supply chain partners, and program management to ensure project success.

We are seeking a professional with extensive background in wire harness engineering for complex electromechanical systems—such as automotive or high-voltage battery environments—who also possesses the leadership skills to guide engineering teams through the transition from concept to production.

  • Direct and provide technical guidance to a cross-functional group of electrical and mechanical engineers specializing in cable and harness systems.
  • Manage the end-to-end development of HV and LV harness products, ensuring high quality from early architecture through to final production support.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent development programs, balancing technical requirements with strict schedule commitments.
  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers, consultants, and technical staff to foster professional growth.
  • Define and implement standardized engineering practices and design guidelines to improve overall execution and consistency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain departments to streamline project workflows.
  • Utilize first-principles analysis and strong engineering fundamentals to lead design reviews and critical technical decision-making.
  • Promote design-for-manufacturing and assembly principles to help optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify and resolve harness-related challenges during prototype assembly, testing, and mass production.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to implement effective corrective measures for design and manufacturing reliability issues.
  • Coordinate project timelines, resource allocation, and technical deliverables across various active programs.
  • Provide ongoing technical mentorship to help team members advance their professional careers.
  • Facilitate manufacturing success by providing on-site support for debugging, rework, and production ramp-up activities.
  • Enhance harness assembly methods and scalability to help improve the quality and reliability of our manufacturing processes.
  • At least 7 years of experience in wire harness design, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or high-voltage energy storage sectors.
  • Proven background in supervising, mentoring, or providing technical leadership to engineering personnel.
