Job summary

Modular is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Hardware Bringup team. You will own end‑to‑end accelerator bring‑up across Mojo kernels, the graph compiler, and MAX serving, coordinating with hardware partners.

The role blends hands‑on engineering with people management, SOW scoping, and cross‑team alignment to ship ambitious milestones. Remote/Los Altos options available in the US/Canada/Europe.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in compiler engineering, HPC, kernel dev, or related domains; 2+ years managing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a 2–7 person team focused on accelerator bring-up across the Modular stack.
• Stay hands-on: participate in design reviews and contribute to architecture, code reviews, and runtime integration.
• Support end-to-end delivery of hardware platform enablement from viability to production deployment.
• Define SOW scope, milestones, and acceptance criteria with hardware partners.
• Partner with Kernels, Graph Compiler, MAX and Cloud teams to align roadmaps and plan FTEs.

Skills

7+ years in compiler engineering or HP

2+ years of people management

C++ proficiency

CUDA/SYCL/OpenCL

MLIR/LLVM familiarity
