Job summary

Discord is seeking a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead one of our full stack squads within the Revenue organization. You will partner with Product to define long-term strategy, guiding a team across web, Android, and iOS to deliver premium experiences that create value and drive company revenue.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and 3P Partnerships to prioritize impactful work and set the technical direction.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to define great solutions to business problems.
Deliver a delightful experience for end users and stakeholders.
Mentor and grow engineers on the team.
Code doesn’t scare you; you’re still an engineer at heart.
You tackle blockers and help partners move work forward.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and partners to drive vision and roadmap.
Lead a team of full stack engineers, hiring, coaching, and setting best practices.
Use technical expertise to design scalable solutions and deliver high-quality products.
Foster a culture that delivers impactful results and delights end users.
Maintain a fast, data-driven development pace and make timely decisions in ambiguous spaces.
Make principled resourcing decisions and clearly communicate rationale to partners and team.
Partner with leadership on strategic planning and engineering organization improvements.
