Ripple is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Product Ledger team in New York. You will steer a correctness-critical, high-throughput backend focused on double-entry ledger systems and ERP integration with Oracle.

You’ll partner with Product, Accounting, and Compliance to deliver scalable, auditable software across Ripple products. You will build and mentor engineering teams, own the roadmap, and drive architectural decisions in a regulated environment while delivering value to

• 5+ years leading impactful engineering teams (8+ engineers) in scalable backend environments.
• Hands-on Java (Spring) and backend service code review experience.
• Experience with double-entry ledger or core accounting systems.
• Proven ability to design correctness-critical, high-throughput transactional systems.
• Experience partnering with Revenue Recognition, Intercompany, and ERP integrations.
• Strong databases knowledge and NoSQL data modeling (DynamoDB).

THE WORK:

Ripple is growing rapidly. We are looking for a focused Software Engineering Manager to lead the Product Ledger team. This team builds the double-entry ledger service powering accounting and financial state across Ripple Products. You'll partner closely with Accounting, Product, and Compliance to build a correctness-critical system that scales across new business lines while remaining audit-ready and Oracle-integrated.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Think strategically while balancing both short and long-term needs
• You will build and lead hard-working engineering teams by motivating your team and leading by example to continuously innovate, improve and think differently
• You will deliver outstanding results for our customers and are a role model for other engineers
• Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong partnerships with Product Management, Ops, Security, Research, Customer Success, and Business development teams
• Responsible for the entire software development process for your team’s work
• Own and deliver your roadmap

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• 5+ years leading impactful engineering teams, having led teams of 8+
• Hands-on experience in Java (Spring) and comfort reviewing/contributing to backend service code
• Direct experience building or operating a double-entry ledger or core accounting/financial system — journals, debits/credits, chart of accounts, balance derivation, reversals
• Track record with correctness-critical, high-throughput transactional systems: idempotency design, concurrency control (optimistic locking / conditional writes), and balance-integrity guarantees under concurrent writes
• Experience partnering closely with team members — revenue recognition, intercompany accounting, GL mapping, reconciliation, and ERP integration (e.g., Oracle)
• Strong grasp of databases at scale and familiarity with NoSQL data modeling (e.g., DynamoDB) for future migration paths
• Experience designing event-driven systems that translate business events into balanced, auditable postings, with simulation/dry-run tooling for onboarding new event types
• Comfort operating in a regulated, audit-sensitive environment — immutable/append-only records, traceability requirements, safeguarding or similar compliance obligations
• Bonus: familiarity with crypto custody and multi-network asset movement (wallets, blockchain networks, exchanges) given the ledger's (asset, network) balancing model
• Proven track record of defining and owning a technical roadmap across multiple product verticals. This includes onboarding additional service areas onto a shared platform rather than focusing on a single product surface.
• Bias toward action, sound judgment under ambiguity, and success recruiting and growing strong engineers

For positions that will be based in NY, the annual salary range for this position is below. Actual salaries may vary based on numerous factors including, among other things, an individual applicant’s experience and qualifications for the position. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions.

NY Annual Base Salary Range

$200,000 — $245,000 USD
