Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager, New Product Development in Maryland Heights, MO to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for embedded control products and systems from concept through production launch.

You will oversee Mechanical, Firmware, Electronic Hardware, and Electrical Engineers while partnering with Marketing, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations to develop talent, solve complex technical challenges, and bring new products to market.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team including Mechanical, Firmware, Electronic Hardware, and Electrical Engineers
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members
• Establish team objectives and individual goals aligned with company priorities
• Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Lead the development of embedded control products from concept through commercialization
• Guide system architecture, design decisions, and technical trade-off evaluations
• Coordinate activities across engineering disciplines to deliver integrated product solutions
• Ensure projects meet performance, quality, reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturability requirements
• Partner with Marketing to translate customer and market needs into technical requirements
• Manage engineering resources, priorities, and schedules across multiple development programs
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and properly staffed
• Support project planning, risk management, and milestone execution
• Balance short-term priorities with long-term product development objectives
• Drive accountability for project deliverables and technical outcomes
• Establish and maintain engineering processes, standards, and best practices
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, verification activities, and risk management efforts
• Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and DFMEA methodologies
