Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Workers Runtime – Edge team. You will own the team that keeps our runtime service running in production and drive the platform's architectural evolution across Cloudflare’s fleet.

You will mentor senior engineers, balance feature work with foundational improvements, and partner across teams to support the broader roadmap. Strong C++/Rust background and leadership required. Austin (Hybrid) work model.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of engineers.
• Experience building low level distributed systems.
• Excel at planning, building and delivering with predictability.
• Strong track record in C++/Rust systems and architecture.
• Ability to hire, onboard, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior systems engineers working in C++ and Rust on a high‑performing, security‑sensitive service.
• Drive infrastructure initiatives including legacy migrations and core abstractions redesign.
• Own reliability and safe releases for a service handling tens of millions of requests per second.
• Prioritize between feature work and foundational investments for long-term health.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to align runtime with broader product roadmap.
