Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking an Engineering Manager on the Data & AI Technology team in Dallas. You will lead an engineering team responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable enterprise platforms while still contributing code in ReactJS and Java.

The role demands strong people leadership, hands-on delivery, and the ability to translate strategy into technical direction across product, architecture, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• Proven success leading engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale software.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into technical direction and manage trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team with clear expectations and accountability.
• Remain hands-on with full-stack work (ReactJS + Java) while guiding architectural decisions.
• Provide technical direction, manage dependencies, and align with product/architecture strategy.
• Ensure predictable delivery using engineering metrics and risk management.
• Drive secure-by-design development, automation, CI/CD, and reliable production operations.
• Guide cloud-native design, APIs, distributed services, and reusable platform capabilities.
