Software Engineering Managers have the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, and also manage a team of Engineers. They optimize their own code and ensure that Engineers can optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your team. Teams work across the company in areas such as information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking, security, data compression, and user interface design.
With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget, and oversee the deployment of large‑scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
In this role, you will influence the industry landscape through active participation in partnerships with internal teams, customers, and external partners. By guiding your team to solve challenging problems in private inference and sovereign cloud solutions, you will directly contribute to Google's market leadership.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $207,000–$300,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
