Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Rules & Report Platform in Irving, TX. You will lead a front-line software team responsible for the report-generation and rendering estate, and work closely with the clinical rules engine to shape patient reports.

You will stay technically engaged through design reviews, coding, and architectural decisions while enforcing automation-first practices, CI/CD discipline, and regulated-change governance in a SOX/FDA environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in people management for a production software team.
• Experience delivering software in FDA, SOX, CLIA, HIPAA regulated environments.
• Experience with agile/scrum planning, estimation, and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a front-line software engineering team: hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development.
• Own delivery for the assigned platform: sprint planning, prioritization with the Product Manager, estimation, and release execution under change control.
• Remain technically engaged: participate in design and architecture reviews, perform code reviews, and uphold engineering standards for SOX/FDA.
• Run the team with an automation-first model: AI-assisted workflows, automated tests, and evidence coverage as core delivery responsibilities.
• Onboard engineers to the regulated environment with structured knowledge transfer as new members join.
• Partner with Site-Reliability Engineering on production readiness, incident response, and remediation within segregation-of-duties constraints.
• Maintain team health with balanced on-call load and controlled WIP; contribute to capacity planning.
• Ensure compliance documentation keeps pace with delivery under SOX and FDA standards.
