Job summary

Flora Food Group is seeking a senior engineering leader to deliver capital expenditure projects at its New Century, Kansas plant and adjacent sites. You will drive transformation, improve efficiency, decarbonization, and business continuity through rigorous project management and cross-functional teamwork.

Ideal candidates bring a strong engineering background (chemical, mechanical, or electrical) with experience in food production, GMPs, and complex multi-project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of engineering and transformation projects at Flora Food Group's New Century and Brantford plants, ensuring alignment with standards.
• Develop project scopes, costing, and capital appropriation requests to support value creation and continuity.
• Manage project planning, execution, and change management to improve manufacturing and equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with factory directors, maintenance, procurement, and global experts to ensure seamless delivery.
• Oversee cost management, schedule control, and procurement to deliver on-time, on-budget projects.

In your first year, you will deliver capital expenditure projects worth between €5 million and €20 million, ensuring they are completed on time, in full, and within budget. This role is critical to driving transformation and continuous improvement at our New Century manufacturing plant. By leading engineering projects that enhance manufacturing efficiency, decarbonization, and business continuity, you directly impact the quality and reliability of the food we help bring to tables. Your work enables stronger operations and supports our commitment to better food through innovation and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead the execution of engineering and transformation projects at the New Century and Brantford plants, ensuring alignment with Flora Food Group standards.
• Develop project scopes, costing, and capital appropriation requests to support value creation and business continuity initiatives.
• Manage project planning, execution, and change management processes to deliver improvements in manufacturing and equipment reliability.
• Collaborate closely with factory directors, maintenance teams, procurement, and global engineering experts to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Oversee cost management, schedule control, and procurement activities to achieve on-time, in-full, and on-budget delivery for all assigned projects.

Performance

You will own the delivery of capital projects that directly improve plant efficiency and operational excellence. Your data-driven approach will ensure 100% of projects meet cost, schedule, and quality targets, supporting continuous improvement and value creation. Your leadership will enable the plant to meet its production goals while advancing decarbonization and innovation efforts.

This role reports to the Global Engineering Director and works within the Global Engineering Team, partnering with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, and Procurement. You will foster collaboration across multiple functions and regions, ensuring projects are executed responsibly and sustainably. Your decisions will balance short-term delivery with long-term impact, supporting a culture of accountability and care for our people and communities.

You have a strong engineering background, ideally in chemical, mechanical, or electrical disciplines, with experience in food and beverage manufacturing. You demonstrate excellent project management skills and a deep understanding of food safety and good manufacturing practices. You work confidently both independently and collaboratively, influencing diverse teams across cultures. You thrive managing multiple complex projects, adapting to changing priorities, and delivering results under pressure.

You are genuinely interested in food culture and curious about how consumer behaviour and future food trends shape innovation. You understand that strong brands are built by anticipating what’s next in taste, nutrition and functionality, and by translating insight into meaningful consumer experiences.
