Job summary

System One is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a major on-site effort for a 1,200-MW combined-cycle natural gas power project in Lee County, Texas. The project is under construction and expected to run through 2028.

You will act as the primary on-site interface among the Owner, EPC contractor, OEM, and Owner’s Engineer, driving coordination, technical reviews, and timely issue resolution. Strong on-site leadership and a bachelor’s degree in engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Strong power generation project experience, preferably with combined cycle power plant experience.
• Experience on site during active construction and commissioning phases.
• Knowledge of document control, RFIs, submittals, QA/QC, and turnover activities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-site engineering and project coordination resource, supporting the Owner’s team and interfacing daily with site leadership, engineering, construction, and key contractors.
• Coordinate and help expedite technical reviews, engineering decisions, and drawing/comment resolution to support project execution.

Overview

System One is seeking a high-caliber Engineering Manager to support a combine cycle power project in Lee County, TX. Project is expected to run through 2028.

The plant is a 1,200-MW combined cycle natural gas power plant that is under construction. This role will serve as a key on-site technical and project interface between the Owner, EPC contractor, OEM, Engineer of Record, and Owner’s Engineer. The successful candidate will help drive timely engineering coordination, field issue resolution, drawing and document review flow, construction support, and overall project execution.

• Demonstrated experience in field engineering, project engineering management, assistant project management, owner’s engineering, EPC execution, or construction support roles.
• Experience working on site during active construction and commissioning phases.
• Working knowledge of engineering document control, technical review workflows, RFIs, submittals, QA/QC processes, and punchlist / turnover activities.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and maintain momentum on open technical and project issues.
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, and issue-resolution skills.
