Job summary

Nike Inc is seeking a Software Engineering Manager within Consumer Product & Innovation. You will lead a team responsible for building, enhancing, and operating digital capabilities that support Nike's product creation, merchandising, and consumer innovation ecosystem.

You will guide engineers, translate strategy into actionable plans, drive scalable software delivery, and partner with product managers and architects to achieve customer-focused outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical initiatives or engineering teams.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing engineers.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with modern architectural patterns including APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and domain-driven design.
• Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and operational support.
• Ability to partner effectively with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to align engineering investments with business outcomes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
• Experience driving process improvements, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence decisions, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
• Translate business objectives and product strategy into actionable engineering plans and priorities.
• Drive the delivery of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, engineering practices, delivery tradeoffs, and operational excellence.
• Partner closely with product managers, architects, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
• Advance engineering excellence through modern software practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational readiness.
• Support the design and delivery of modular, configurable, API-first capabilities consumed by modern digital products and platforms.
• Improve engineering processes, team effectiveness, quality, reliability, and speed of delivery.
• Lead incident reviews and root cause analyses, ensuring learnings are incorporated into standards and operating procedures.
• Contribute to resource planning, hiring, talent development, and organizational growth.
• Promote technical knowledge sharing through design reviews, technical forums, communities of practice, and engineering events.
