Job summary

LangChain is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the LangSmith team, the observability and evaluation platform for LLM applications. You’ll define the technical direction, grow and mentor a world‑class engineering team, and partner with product and design to deliver features that enable developers to build trustworthy AI systems with confidence.

Based in New York, you will hire and coach engineers, drive scalable architecture, and ensure code quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams delivering complex full‑stack products.
• Strong background in Go/Python and React/TypeScript.
• Know-how of Postgres, Redis, ClickHouse databases.
• Proven ability to design high‑throughput data‑intensive systems.
• Bias toward shipping quickly and learning from customers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performing engineering team.
• Strengthen engineering culture through quality code and mentorship.
• Define long‑term technical direction for LangSmith platform.
• Collaborate with product and design to scope initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of technical excellence and urgency.
• Lead by writing clean, maintainable code in Go/Python and TS.
• Engage with customers to translate needs into product improvements.
