Royal Caribbean Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Global E-Commerce Team in Miami to lead a production AI-powered engineering effort building digital customer experiences.

You will be hands-on to define architecture, write specs, review PRs, and mentor senior engineers, partnering with product, design, data, and security to ship reliable systems in a regulated enterprise.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of production software experience including leadership roles.
• Proven track record shipping AI agents and integrating AI into products.
• Strong opinions on agentic system design and when to use AI vs deterministic logic.
• Hands-on with Python/TypeScript, cloud platforms (AWS), and secure, SOX-regulated development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior engineers building new digital customer experiences powered by the latest AI innovations — set direction, unblock, mentor, and grow the bench.
• Make the architectural decisions that matter most: where to apply AI versus deterministic logic, how systems should be evaluated and monitored over time, what to build versus buy, and how the work integrates cleanly into a complex enterprise environment.
• Set the engineering bar — spec-driven development, eval-led iteration, modern AI-assisted workflows, and the kind of rigor that lets us ship non-deterministic systems with confidence.
• Partner closely with product, design, data, and security to deliver experiences our guests actually love.
• Recruit, grow, and retain a team of senior engineers who operate at that bar without being micromanaged.
• Translate cleanly between senior leadership and hands‑on engineering — adjusting register without losing substance in either direction.
