Job summary

Plata Card is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI Business Features to lead a cross-functional team from concept to production. You will own delivery end to end, review architecture, and shape scalable backend services while collaborating with Product, Data, and AI teams globally.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strong technical depth, and the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete technical solutions. Relocation support and flexible work options are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams (hiring, development, performance, and delivery management)
• Proven experience leading teams in AI, ML, or data-driven engineering environments; experience training models is a plus
• Strong technical background with hands-on development experience and the ability to validate technical decisions independently
• Experience building AI-powered, user-facing products from concept to production, including running A/B tests
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher for effective collaboration with an international team
• Ability to translate ambiguous business and product requirements into clear technical solutions and priorities

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager for AI Business Features - the team that turns business and product hypotheses into production AI features. You will lead a cross-functional engineering team, own delivery end to end, and work directly with Product, Data, and AI on scope and prioritization. The role requires enough technical depth to review architecture and challenge design decisions yourself, not through a proxy.

The team works in short cycles: hypotheses go to production, get measured, and are then scaled or dropped. Expect a broad portfolio of initiatives rather than one long-running product.
