Lead the delivery of complex engineering projects focused on new product verticals. Break down initiatives into manageable stages with predictable timelines, making clear trade-offs between speed, experimentation, and long-term scalability. Partner closely with product and data to prioritise high-impact work and maximise business outcomes. Foster a 'bottom-up' product environment where your engineering teams are empowered to propose and lead on new products and features. Understand engineering levelling and scale the team by identifying and filling skill gaps, particularly in areas like experimentation, performance, and scale. Collaborate with recruiting to attract and retain top talent aligned with our fast-paced, outcome-driven environment. Monitor team performance proactively, ensuring strong execution and continuous improvement. Support engineers in delivering measurable impact and developing their careers through ownership of key growth metrics. Lead through Engineering Managers. Navigate difficult conversations with clarity and empathy, especially when balancing business urgency with technical quality. Foster a collaborative, high-velocity team culture aligned with company goals.

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams delivering high-impact, user-facing projects, ideally 4+ years
• Proven experience leading Engineering Managers
• Strong ability to operate in fast-paced, experiment-driven environments with clear business metrics
• Experience scaling teams and aligning them to product and revenue goals
• Proven ability to track performance and help team members improve output and impact
• Excellent communication skills, especially in cross-functional environments (product, data, design)
• Relevant engineering background building scalable SaaS products
• Experience with growth, experimentation, or conversion optimization is a strong plus

This will consist of 5 separate calls covering: People Management/Talent System Technical Leadership Program Management Cross‑Functional Strategy Leadership The process does not need to take long - we can be done in 2-3 weeks. Other important info: Our preference is for this role to based either in-office or remote in the following locations: UK, Germany, Switzerland or Ireland. We may also be able to support remote workers in other locations across Europe subject to compliance and right to work checks. The salary starts at EUR/GBP/CHF 180,000 base + stock option plan. This is full-time employment only - no contractors possible - usually through OysterHR. Everyone at Synthesia gets 25 days of leave + local holidays
