About You

You possess the rare blend of technical and interpersonal skills needed to provide in-the-trenches daily leadership to a talented group of engineers. You draw out–and occasionally challenge–your team members’ assertions gracefully and constructively, facilitate spirited debates, and guide your engineering team toward smart decisions and polished deliverables. You communicate and collaborate effectively across a wide swath of personalities and experience levels, from college intern CS majors to grizzled veterans. You are a coach, timekeeper, and referee all in one, and bring out the best in your team.

About The Role

High Fidelity is in search of a Software Engineering Manager to help lead a team of six to eight engineers in delivering our next-gen WebRTC-based collaboration application. You'll be the cornerstone, ensuring that we deliver a seamless, scalable, and unique experience to our users.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Leadership and Drive Decision-Making Offer ongoing leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with the company’s product and technical strategy. • Lead Agile Sprint Planning and Closure Oversee agile sprint planning and closing ceremonies, ensuring clear objectives for the team and high-quality task breakdowns to enhance deliverability and project success.
  • Facilitate Sprint Retrospectives and Drive Process Innovation Conduct sprint retrospectives to foster open, collaborative feedback. Utilize insights from these sessions to inform and drive process improvements. Draw out, synthesize, and implement ideas from team members into actionable enhancements, and guide the team in adopting new processes, ensuring smooth transitions and team buy-in.
  • Monitor and Enhance Team Performance Track team and individual performance in sprint completion and task execution using effective metrics and tools. Proactively identify and address areas needing improvement, and implement growth and enhancement strategies for the team and individual members.
  • Contribute to Full-Stack Application Development As time permits, contribute to the development of full-stack application components, including client, server, and database, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Participate in Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Play an active role in the recruitment process.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience managing and leading software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed technical decisions and guide teams towards successful outcomes.
  • Technical experience with WebRTC SDKs and APIs, specifically for audio, video, and data channels.
  • Experience in integrating third-party WebRTC components or services.
  • Demonstrable experience building scalable client/server web applications.
