Job summary

CSP (Teijin Automotive Technologies) in Salisbury, MD seeks an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to plan and lead multi-project programs in a fast-paced environment.

You will develop DFMA processes, perform PFMEA/DFMEA, execute DoE and process validation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Minitab is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years in new product development (NPD) in a team environment.
  • 5+ years applying Six Sigma (DMAIC) tools.
  • 5+ years applying Lean Manufacturing principles in manufacturing.
  • DFSS experience is strongly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage multiple programs/projects concurrently with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to teams.
  • Develop DFMA and tooling/fixtures for new processes.
  • Create 2D and 3D CAD/CAE using SolidWorks.
  • Perform PFMEA/DFMEA and control plans.
  • Conduct DOE, design experiments and process optimization.
  • Validate products/equipment (IQ/OQ/PA/PAP).
  • Support QMS/SOP adherence and process documentation.
  • Lead process mapping (VSM, SIPOC) and capability analysis (Cp/Cpk).

  • Requirement flow-down (Voice of Customer a Functional Requirements a Design Parameter & Process Parameters)
  • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Developing new processes and tooling/fixtures
  • Creating 2D and 3D CAD/CAE (SolidWorks)
  • Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA, DFMEA)
  • Control Methods (Mistake Proofing, Flags, SPC, Inspection, SOP and Warning Signals)
  • Tolerance Analysis/Simulation
  • Design of Experiments (Factorial DOE – full and fractional) and optimization
  • Control Plan
  • Project Planning, cross-function leader of teams involving internal and external stakeholders
  • Cellular manufacturing flow, pull, line balancing, standard work and time standards
  • Root Cause Analysis methods
  • Write Justification (ROI) for capital projects
  • Product/equipment Validation (i.e. IQOQPA, PPAP)
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Design and plan production pilot runs
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Access and Visio
  • Proficient with Minitab
  • Understands bill of material (BOM) and shop routing
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, results orientated, and can work prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings (including GD&T)
  • Mechanical Measurement and Instrumentation skills
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Process Mapping methods (VSM, high/mid/low-level maps, swim-lane, SIPOC)
  • Capability Analysis (Cp/Cpk, DPMO, % Yield)
Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing or Industrial Technology is preferred.

  • Certification/Certificate in lean Manufacturing
  • 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering
  • 5+ years of new product development (NPD) in a team environment
