Job summary

Morales Professional, a Morales Group company, seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to steer the aerospace manufacturing engineering function, guide NPI, and translate technical requirements into production processes.

You will lead the engineering team, collaborate with customers and suppliers, oversee documentation and tooling, and push cost-reducing, quality-enhancing initiatives while maintaining safety and 6S.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Strong CAD and tooling skills with a track record of cost reductions.
• Strong project management, analytical and communication skills; proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Hands-on, collaborative approach; ability to manage competing priorities; related degree preferred.

Job description

Lead engineering people, projects, and manufacturing improvements for an aerospace manufacturer. Reporting to the President, you will guide the engineering function, support new product introductions, and help turn technical requirements into efficient, reliable production processes.

What You Will Do as a Lead Mechanical Engineer:

• Lead and mentor the engineering team; manage priorities, resources, and project delivery.


• Partner with customers, vendors, and subcontractors to align specifications and manufacturing requirements.


• Oversee engineering documentation, product specifications, tooling design, and modifications.


• Support existing products and new product introductions; assess product, process, and supplier risks.


• Evaluate new manufacturing technologies and equipment to reduce costs and improve processes.


• Drive on time and in full project and quoting delivery; target 95% completion of product change, laser, CNC, and weld requests. Promote 6S, safety, and quality procedures.

What You Bring:

• 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.


• Strong CAD and tooling skills, with a proven record of manufacturing cost reductions.


• Strong project management, analytical, communication, technical training, and presentation skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.


• A hands on, collaborative approach and ability to manage competing priorities. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Work includes office and manufacturing settings, travel, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
