Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. As the Engineering Manager , you will be responsible for the overall support and operational performance of a large engine and battery development facility. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across technical services, facility maintenance, and logistics while managing external service providers and contracts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient testing and development operations by driving continuous improvement, resource optimization, and stakeholder collaboration.

Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
Providing specialized engineering technical support and consulting services to various areas of the enterprise.
Managing high-impact, short and long duration facility operation initiatives and projects; ensuring achievement of facility maintenance plans and quality.
Maintaining facility contracts within budget.
Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum or equivalent experience.
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
