  • Ensure timely evaluation and implementation of engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues and quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Job description

The Manager of Engineering leads the Engineering team and is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle. The role ensures product reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The position provides technical and disciplinary leadership to the team and contributes to operational excellence and long-term product sustainability.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate the Engineering function to support existing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Manage New Product Introduction Processes for OEM products
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure timely evaluation and implementation of engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues and quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Team Leadership and People Management

  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the Sustaining Engineering team.
  • Support employee development, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solution-oriented team culture.
  • Support hiring and onboarding activities as needed.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering or technical teams.
  • Experience in sustaining engineering, product lifecycle management, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (medical or dental devices preferred).

Core Skills Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of FDA, CE, and applicable medical device regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and cross-functional environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Interest in future technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Occasional travel is required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
  • Master's in mechanical engineering is preferred.
