Risus Talent Partners is partnering with a rapidly growing modular construction company that designs, engineers, and builds steel-frame modular buildings and custom structures across the United States.

The Engineering Manager will lead a design/engineering team (4–10 people, including remote members), coordinate priorities with client deadlines, and ensure practical, buildable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering/design experience in modular construction.
• Experience in modular construction, manufacturing, or design-build.
• Structural or MEP background preferred.
• P.E. Certification preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a growing design/engineering team (4–10 people, including remote team members).
• Oversee project priorities and coordinate timelines based on client deadlines.
• Work closely with clients to understand project vision, timelines, expectations, and technical requirements.
• Support production/fabrication teams when design or construction issues arise.

• Ensure designs are realistic, buildable, and production-friendly.
• Support DFMA initiatives.

Are you an Engineering Manager who thinks like a builder first?

We are partnering with a rapidly growing modular construction company that designs, engineers, and builds steel-frame modular buildings and custom structures across the United States. Founded in 2018, this privately owned company has grown aggressively over the past several years and is experiencing approximately 3x year-over-year growth.

This is not a "sit behind a desk and design in theory" type of engineering role.

The team is looking for someone who understands how projects actually get built in the real world - someone comfortable working closely with fabrication, operations, production, and clients to solve real construction challenges in fast-paced environments.

If you've spent time in modular construction, manufacturing, steel fabrication, design-build, or highly practical engineering environments, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and manage a growing design/engineering team (typically 4-10 people, including remote team members)
• Oversee project priorities and coordinate timelines based on client deadlines

What They're Looking For

• 5+ years of engineering/design experience
• Background in modular construction, manufacturing, steel fabrication, or design-build environments
• Structural or MEP background strongly preferred
• P.E. Certification strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, coordination, and delegation skills
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings
• Hands-on mindset with practical problem-solving ability
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment
• Strong communication skills across field teams, production staff, designers, and clients

• Ability to create and modify technical drawings
