Job summary

Frontier-Kemper in Evansville, IN is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 10+ professional engineers and a broader design team across Heavy Civil, Mine Development, and OEM divisions.

You will manage engineering schedules, budgets, and regulatory interfaces, mentor staff, and drive cost, delivery, and quality improvements while ensuring compliance with safety and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 15 years of related engineering experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of operations management and/or engineering leadership experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
• Strong technical background in Heavy Civil or Mining Construction.
• Equipment design and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proven track record of leading and motivating high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team of professionals and designers.
• Oversee all engineering and design functions across Heavy Civil Tunneling, Mine Development, and OEM Equipment Manufacturing/FKC-Lake Shore.
• Manage and maintain project engineering schedules and budgets.
• Serve as the technical liaison with Division Managers, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Direct and coordinate engineering, operational, and quality initiatives to improve cost, delivery, and performance.
• Ensure that designs meet commercial, customer, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Lead three discipline managers in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
