We are seeking an Engineering Manager with expertise in plastic injection molds and injection molding to lead our technical team in the development and optimization of tooling and processes, including automation solutions.

Education and Qualifications

Strong and diverse technical background in injection mold tooling, processing, materials, manufacturing, and quality.

B.S. degree in Engineering, Plastics Technology, or equivalent experience and certification training.

At least 5 years of practical work experience in thermoplastic injection molding and/or injection mold building.

Job Skill Requirements

  • Solid understanding of plastic part design, injection mold tooling, thermoplastic injection molding, and automation
  • Ability to effectively lead and mentor a small technical team with a servant leadership mindset
  • Proficiency in CAD software for part and mold design analysis, including SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding principles
  • Good communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with risk analysis tools
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Engineering Department & New Program Development: Oversee engineering activities including APQP, tooling design, process development, and automation development.
  • Collaborate with customers to optimize part designs for manufacturing, performance, and cost targets.
  • Develop and implement tooling specifications, design standards, and qualification processes to ensure quality and production requirements.
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce costs, improve uptime, and enhance product quality, working with service providers and internal teams.
  • Serve as a technical resource for production, tooling, and quality departments, analyzing processes and implementing improvements.
  • Identify and develop new technologies to enhance our offerings, especially in metal replacement applications.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues related to part design, materials, and processes.
