Role Description

The Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Buellton, CA, responsible for leading engineering activities that support water infrastructure planning, design, maintenance, and improvement. The Engineering Manager coordinates and manages projects, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor or contractor coordination, ensuring that work is completed on time and within regulatory and organizational requirements. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with operations and maintenance teams, reviewing technical documentation and reports, evaluating system performance, and recommending enhancements or integrations to improve reliability and efficiency. The role also involves preparing presentations and reports for leadership, supporting strategic planning, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the CCWA team.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, or another closely related field is required.

Requires five (5) years of increasing responsibility performing engineering activities related to the evaluation, planning, design, scheduling, bidding and construction of water treatment, conveyance and/or distribution facilities.

One (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred.

License Requirements:

• Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.


• California Water Treatment Operator and/or Distribution Certificates as defined in Title 17, Chapter 9 of the California Health and Safety Code, highly desirable.


• Valid California Class C or higher driver license.
