It is at the core of how we operate and the reason for our success. We're moving with urgency to become a Next Gen Good Neighbor, with technology that strengthens human connections and enhances the customer experience. As an employee, you'll spend less time navigating systems and more time applying judgment, empathy, and expertise in the moments that matter most.

Responsibilities

The Internal Productivity & Collaboration (IPC) Suite is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a portfolio of critical enterprise communication and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange, and related messaging and support capabilities.

This leader will be responsible for a team of highly skilled engineers and analysts focused on delivering reliable, secure, and modern communication experiences for State Farm employees, associates, and Agents. The role will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, operational oversight, and product ownership for services that are foundational to how employees, associates, and Agents connect, collaborate, and communicate every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers and technology professionals supporting Teams, Exchange, and enterprise messaging and support capabilities.
  • Drive product strategy, roadmaps, adoption, and lifecycle management for collaboration and communication platforms.
  • Partner with business, security, infrastructure, and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, and user-focused solutions.
  • Ensure operational excellence through strong service management, incident response, availability, performance, and support processes.
  • Champion employee experience improvements by identifying opportunities to simplify communication and collaboration across the enterprise.
  • Manage platform modernization efforts, technology upgrades, and strategic vendor relationships, including engagement with Microsoft.
  • Develop talent, build team culture, and create growth opportunities for engineers and analysts.
  • Communicate effectively with leaders, stakeholders, and business partners regarding strategy, priorities, risks, and outcomes.
Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering and technology teams within large enterprise environments, including responsibility for enterprise-scale collaboration, messaging, productivity, and cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, and related collaboration technologies, with working knowledge of identity, security, compliance, automation, networking, and cloud services.
  • Experience managing complex technology portfolios while balancing operational excellence, service reliability, high availability, incident management, change governance, lifecycle management, vendor management, and Microsoft service escalations.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and drive execution across diverse stakeholders, teams, and organizational boundaries.
  • Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and talent development skills, with the ability to lead through influence and foster high-performing teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical, security, privacy, governance, and vendor-related information to risk, compliance, legal, and executive audiences to support informed decision-making and governance discussions.
  • Knowledge of data stewardship, information governance, and data access controls within Microsoft 365, including how organizational data is accessed, governed, and managed through Microsoft Graph APIs.
  • Experience operating in large, regulated environments and navigating associated governance, compliance, risk management, and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of emerging AI-powered workplace technologies, including Microsoft Copilot and related personal productivity AI platforms, with the ability to evaluate business value, adoption opportunities, governance considerations, risks, and employee experience impacts.
What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be a servant leader who combines strong technical acumen with a passion for developing people and delivering exceptional employee experiences. They will foster an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation while helping shape the future of communication and collaboration capabilities across the enterprise.
