Job summary

IDEX in Albuquerque seeks an Engineering Manager to guide production by aligning manufacturing and design engineers, increasing capacity, and driving efficiency. This leadership role reports to the Site Leader and focuses on delivering improvements across processes and new product introductions.

The position requires strong analytical skills, experience leading an engineering team, and the ability to translate customer specs into actionable procedures while adhering to safety and quality

Qualifications

  • BS or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Eight or more years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control or similar methods.
  • Three years of direct engineering team leadership/supervision.
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications and use are preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

The IDEX Material Sciences Solutions, CVI Albuquerque business unit is looking for an Engineering Manager to support production by setting direction and coordinating manufacturing and production design engineers to improve process efficiency and introduce new products. This working‑leader role is directly involved in manufacturing and design work to add capacity to the existing engineering team and reports to the Site Leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role includes:

  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement for manufacturing.
  • Responding to production product/process non‑conformities and ensuring resources are allocated to support production technicians.
  • Leading root cause analysis and developing effective countermeasures.
  • Creating and managing timelines for projects.
  • Building and improving processes around new product introduction coordination.
  • Creating and implementing methodology for improved workflow and testing capabilities.
  • Representing engineering function in customer interactions for issue escalation or new product opportunities.
  • Ensuring process documentation is created for newly developed processes and ongoing projects.
  • Creating metrics to track process capability and improvement.
  • Creating or recommending creation of drawings for required jigs.
  • Translating customer specifications into department procedures.
  • Interacting with various departments to improve productivity and quality.
  • Establishing, following, and enforcing all safety regulations.
  • Utilizing data analysis techniques to prioritize solutions.
  • Effectively communicating change at all organizational levels.

  • Hands‑on approach to learning and teaching others.
Credentials and Experience
  • B.S. or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Eight or more years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control or similar methods.
  • Three years of direct engineering team leadership/supervision.
  • Lean Six Sigma certifications and use are preferred.
Requirements

Positions may require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations. Total Rewards

Compensation range: $112,700.00 – $169,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.
