Job summary

0.8 FTE, 10-month position with year-round pay, Monday–Friday hours, and mentorship of students in fabrication, CAD/CAM, and safety procedures. Strong focus on safety, training, and reliable equipment management.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Familiarity with CNC setup, programming, and operation.
• Familiarity with the safe operation and maintenance of general metalworking and woodworking equipment.
• Ability to mentor students and work with diverse technical backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance for all faculty, staff, and students in shop and labs.
• Maintain and grow technical expertise and equipment proficiency.
• Review student designs for manufacturability and select appropriate processes.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines; troubleshoot equipment.
• Hire, train, and supervise student assistants.
