Job summary

Southworth seeks a Director of Engineering to provide strategic leadership for SIGI AMS core product engineering and custom solutions. This role directs design, manufacturing, and quality functions to deliver customer orders, cost reductions, and lifecycle management of the portfolio.

You will mentor engineering leaders, develop talent, and drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and customer focus across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Experience with capital projects, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor engineering managers and teams across design, manufacturing, process engineering, and quality functions.
• Develop and execute the engineering strategy for core product portfolio and custom operations.
• Align objectives with growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Oversee budgets, resource allocation, and project portfolios to meet schedule and cost targets.
• Partner with Operations, Sales, Product, Supply Chain, and Quality to support business objectives.
