Job summary

LAMP is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to own the plant design basis and ensure field builds align with the design. You will manage PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, line lists and electrical load schedules, with responsibility for field questions and change control.

You will lead process hazard analyses, layer of protection reviews and relief system verification with safety engineers and third party facilitators, coordinating across disciplines to deliver a coherent, compliant installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical or process engineering.
• 12+ years of process plant engineering with multi discipline coordination.
• Deep working knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, NEC and Texas codes.
• Experience taking a design through construction, commissioning and startup.
• Ability to make binding technical decisions in the field under schedule pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own the design basis, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, line lists, instrument index and electrical load schedule as controlled documents.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, installation requirements and contractor submittals before work proceeds.
• Disposition field technical queries and non conformances quickly, and control engineering change through a formal management of change process.
• Lead the process hazard analysis, layer of protection review and relief system verification with the process safety engineer and third party facilitator.
• Coordinate the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation, civil and structural discipline inputs into a single coherent installed design.
• Verify utility adequacy across steam, cooling, chilled water, compressed air, process water, nitrogen, power and effluent before commissioning.
• Own the as built drawing set and confirm it is complete and accurate at handover to operations.
• Support the engineering content of regulatory and government submittals.
